On World Galgo Day, February 1st, thousands of animal rights activists demonstrated not only in Spain, but throughout Europe, as well as in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. I witnessed a protest march in the southern Spanish coastal town of Almeria. More here.

Spanish greyhounds, Galgos, are used for hunting, and many are cruelly killed or abandoned by hunters at the end of the hunting season. The SOS Galgos association educates children about their plight. More here.

From Las Vegas, I’m continuing my journey to St. George, Utah, by minibus shuttle. The route takes us through the Virgin River Gorge, which is considered one of the most scenic drives in the USA. It’s located neither in Nevada nor in Utah – but in Arizona. More here.
